The Swiss Islamic Council (CIS) informs you, that the amount of this year's Zakat al Fitr is less than 5.-CHF.
If you like to give 5.-CHF or more, have the intent to offer the surplus as voluntary alms (sadaqah).
According to Islamic law, it is not valid to pay Zakat by means of banking, post, internet or money box.
It is also not valid to give Zakat in favour of a Mosque, an Islamic Centre, an association, a hospital, a school, a charity organisation, and so on.
The Zakat al Fitr must be distributed among the categories mentioned in the Holy Quran as poor and miserable.
However, the distribution of the “Zakat al Fitr”, to the rightful claimants, may be delegated to a trustworthy person.
If you like, you may delegate one of the responsables ot the agencies of the CIS with the distribution of your “Zakat al Fitr”.
Those agencies are:

- Centre Islamique de Bienfaisance de Neuchâtel (Islamic Centre of Charity Neuchâtel) (Serrières)
- Centre Islamique de Bienne (Islamic Centre Bienne)
- Islamisches Zenrum Zürich (Islamic centre Zürich)
